This is a groomed trail in rolling terrain. There are no difficult up or downhill runs, but will involve some basic uphill and downhill skills. This trip is not intended as a XC ski class. It is intended as a nice trip to get some XC ski practice and prepare for future ski trips. Having said all that, I'm will be happy to pass any XC skiing tips I may have to anyone that may need some help.

If anyone has any questions or need additional information, please email me at trout.bill@gmail.com or call/text me at 970-222-3398.

We will meet at Pringles parking lot located on the NW corner of Taft & Drake at 7:00am and leave promptly at 7:10am. Then drive directly over Cameron Pass to the Moose Visitor Center near Gould. A Colorado State Park pass will be required to park vehicles at the Visitor Center. If anyone would prefer to meet directly at the Visitor Center, please let me know ahead of time. This Visitor Center has nice restrooms and a warm place to put on boots and gear. Depending on the time and desires of the group, we may stop at Rustic for a strawberry milkshake or your preferred confection or treat.

Ride share will be $15 per person.

Again, since we will be skiing a groomed trail, standard XC skis should suffice. If you do not have waxless skis, you are responsible for having proper wax and technique to prep your skis for skiing uphill and downhill. It's been 30 years since I've had to wax skis and so I won't be able to help you. If you do not have waxless skis, you should have kicker skins in your pack, just in case.

Also, remember to bring water and perhaps a hot beverage. We will have a short lunch break along the trail, so bring some lunch.

It can also be windy, so you should have a windproof shell and other wind gear.

In addition to all the above, everyone should bring their positive attitude with the intent to have some great fun playing in the snow!
