Note: This will not be your typical CMC hike. Expect winter travel conditions: moderate to advanced snowshoeing, the use of spikes and ice axe on high angle icy slopes, and glissades. We will start this alpine adventure from Jim Creek TH and proceed up the Jim Creek Trl for approximately 2 miles, most likely on snowshoes. We will then cut off-trail and bushwhack up to the lower reaches of the the extended north ridge of Parry Peak. Upon reaching tree-line at approximately 11,400’ we will don our spikes and summit Point 11800. Our prime objective will be next, NW Parry Peak (Point 12090). The descent will consist of possibly steep, snowy and/or icy terrain with the use of an ice axe. We will most likely descend via two moderate glissades before returning on the Jim Creek Trl. Totals are approximately 7 miles and 3,000’ vertical gain.

We will meet at Wooly Mammoth Lot in Golden at 7am.
