This EXPLORATORY hike begins at the Hewlett Gulch Trailhead, the route leaves the Hewlett Gulch Trail quickly and climbs steeply off-trail along a ridge to connect with the Greyrock Meadows Trail. Follow the Greyrock Meadows Trail to the Greyrock Trail, then continue on the Greyrock Trail to the summit of Greyrock Mountain, with some modest scrambling required to gain the summit. From the summit, retrace the Greyrock Trail to the Greyrock Meadows Trail and follow it to the saddle southwest of the meadows, where the route leaves the established trail for a steep off-trail traverse back to the Hewlett Gulch Trail. Both off-trail sections require careful route-finding, attention to footing, appropriate use of maps or other navigation tools, and careful group decision-making and consensus on the best available route. Once back on the Hewlett Gulch Trail, follow it downhill to the trailhead to complete the loop. We'll find a comfortable spot at/near the summit for lunch/snack. Our pace will be consistent with completing this hike in a reasonable amount of time.Overall ~7.5 miles and ~2400 ft elevation gain. (Greyrock Off-trail - CalTopo)

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at King Soopers, North College, Fort Collins at 7:00 AM, and depart at 7:15 AM (King Soopers Marketplace - Google Maps)
