Camp – Vega State Park

Vega State Park is a great place to camp, slow down, and beat the summer heat for the holiday weekend.  We'll relax, take in the scenery, and hang out around the campfire in the cool evenings for three nights, September 4-7, 2026.

Reservations are open for this trip beginning March 4th.  The leader will be attempting to book an electric site in the Early Settlers Loop.  The Early Settlers Loop is popular and the sites by the water will go quickly.

There are five cozy cabins that can accommodate up to six people. The nearby Pioneer Loop has walk-up tent sites.   Aspen Grove Loop has excellent non-electric sites with plenty of privacy.

The leader will be in touch with more details closer to the camping event.  If you have any questions, please email the leader.

Book your individual campsite through Colorado Parks & Wildlife for Friday-Monday (September 4-7).   We will not have a group campsite although we will gather each evening for happy hour and a campfire at the leader's campsite (optional).

There are some 4-wheel drive roads nearby to explore that are well graded.  Don't forget your kayak or paddleboard if you have one.  As always,  all water activities are not CMC sponsored events and are at your own risk.

Our focus will not be on hiking as there aren't many hiking trails nearby.  Yet,  there are plenty of walking opportunities as Vega is a big state park.
