Climb – Staunton State Park
Afternoon multi-pitch climb in Staunton State Park at Park View Dome crag. We will plan to climb Chase the Sky, a 300 foot, 3 pitch sport climb, graded at 5.7.

Participants will be expected to have a basic understanding of multi-pitch rock climbing. We will need to rappel multiple times to descend.
P1: 13 bolts including one at the intermediate anchor and a 2 bolt anchor with chains.
P2: 10 bolts and a 2 bolt anchor with equalized chains to a steel rap ring.
P3: 12 bolts and a 2 bolt anchor with chains.

Plan to meet at Lazy V Trailhead in Staunton State Park at 5pm. We will start hiking from the parking lot to the crag at 5:15pm.

- 10 essentials, non cotton clothing, rain jacket
- Basic climbing kit: Harness, helmet, pack, climbing shoes, chalk, approach shoes for hike to crag from lot
- Personal Anchor System or 120cm sewn nylon sling for tether
- 2 locking carabiners
- 2 non-locking carabiners
- Belay/rappel device and a dedicated locking carabiner
- Rappel back-up sling - 10-13 inch tied loop of 5-6 mm nylon cord, or 13.5 in. Hollow-block loop
