A beautiful hike through Indian Peaks Wilderness Area to Lake Dorothy, covering 7 miles with ~1,950' of elevation gain.

From the Fourth of July TH we will head NW on the Arapaho Pass Trail towards Arapaho Pass. The first half of this hike features a long (3.5 mile, 1,950 ft) steady climb to Lake Dorothy, the highest named lake in Indian Peaks Wilderness Area at 12,061 ft. When we reach the lake we will spend some time exploring the area, depending on the terrain.

Our carpool location is the Plainview Rd Parking area (39.875595, -105.268997 Google Maps) at 6:15am for a 6:30am departure.  We will carpool to the Fourth of July Trailhead Parking Lot (39.994796, -105.634761 Google Maps). 

The Parking at the Fourth of July TH fills up quickly. We will need to take the minimum number of vehicles and get an early start.
