Dodgeton trail #1302 from the Spring Creek Trailhead in Cuchara. Easy hike ~ 2 miles out and then back with 794ft elevation gain starting from 8,600 ft and topping out around 9,251 ft.

Please text Sue Greer at (214) 552-9480 by 5 pm Friday, October 9 if you would like to join the hike.  If I have not had the pleasure of previously hiking with you, I will want to know the distance and gain of hikes you have done in the last two months to be able to gauge the group pace.  An email will be sent out to registered participants on Friday evening, October 9 with details of the hike, including updated weather information.

Beginners, new members, slow hikers, and picture takers are welcome.  Aspens are coloring up.  This is a dog friendly hike for sociable dogs on leash.  This is an ATV/motorized vehicle under 50” allowed trail as well as horses.  This leader will not be bringing her pup.

 

Pueblo and other Southern Colorado participants will meet at 7:30 am for a 7:40 am departure from the parking lot in the small strip mall that is located to the west of the Loaf N’ Jug on the corner of Lake Ave and Pueblo Blvd in Pueblo (1201 W. Pueblo Blvd, 81005) to determine carpool logistics. Those desiring to do so can meet at the Spring Creek Trailhead in Cuchara at 9:30 am for a quick hike departure. The hike starts and ends at the trailhead.  Please notify Sue Greer 214-552-9480 which location you will be meeting the group.

Please be prepared for changing temperature and weather conditions. Rain gear/wind protection is essential along with solid, supportive shoes and an appropriate pack to carry the 10 essentials and water.  There is no water or facilities available at the trailhead.  Bring a minimum of 1 liter of water for the trail, snacks, and a lunch to eat after the hike. There is no parking fee during the off season.  There are picnic tables at the trailhead to relax, enjoy lunch, and a cold beverage after the hike.
