Hiking – Boulder Open Space
A different kind of hiking experience - "Rewilding Ourselves". A rewilding hike draws on natural environments to support reconnection and the renewal of a sense of aliveness within ourselves. Along the way, the senses are intentionally engaged through elements of "forest bathing", a well established practice that promotes relaxation and well- being.

Rewilding Ourselves, a 6 part series offered each month throughout the summer with an additional one held in September to coincide with the changing of the aspen leaves. This particular trail will include parts of the Enchanted Mesa trail, McClintock Upper trail, Mesa trail and Skunk Canyon trail.
The trail offers opportunities for unhurried moments among pine trees, as well as intentional pauses that allow the mind to absorb the openness of a meadow. At various points, attention will be directed upwards, as we are awarded with expansive views of the mountains and flatirons - an experience that invites a quiet sense of awe and shifts in perspective.
Afterwords there will be an optional walk around Chautauqua historic grounds followed by a stop at the General store , a restored cottage, that serves coffee, locally crafted teas, ice cream and pastries. There is an outdoor pavilion next door with places to eat or picnic tables in the park if you wish to bring a lunch or enjoy any drinks or treats you may want.
Please arrive by 9 am for a prompt start time of 9:05 am.
We will meet at the Enchanted Mesa Trailhead. The trailhead is located just south of the Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder.
Details and directions will be emailed to registered participants.
