Stewart Peak is one of the highest of the 13ers. It is located in the gorgeous La Garita subrange of the San Juans. We'll hike it from the north from the Cebola trailhead, which is fairly close to Lake City. It is primarily a class 2 off trail, going across meadows and talus. The total distance is 7.6 miles with about 2800' of gain.
It's a fairly easy drive to the trailhead on a dirt road.
