Hiking – Columbia Point, Obstruction Peak, Kitty Kat Carson Peak

A challenging early season high elevation hike! We will hike and scramble on Difficult Class 2 terrain. Over 13 miles, we will summit three 13ers. Due to the long time above treeline, an alpine start of 4am is planned.

Moderate scrambling

Leader will be camping in the area.  Meet at South Colony Lakes 2WD trailhead at 3:30am.  We will climb into the vehicle most capable of driving up to the 4WD trailhead.  I have some doubts about my high clearance but long wheelbase Sprinter being able to make it.

This is a Beautiful hike/scramble with some areas of moderately loose rock.  We will be above treeline for hours and will periodically make decisions about continuing based on weather.  Little to no snow is expected.

Join me for camping the night before at Alvarado Campground, or meet at Trailhead.

Leader permission required so I can make sure you are well matched for this hike.
