  • Mileage: 9.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,400 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 9,762 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 ascent - 2.0 descent

The hike is a steady ascent on a trail through forest, a meadow, and back into the forest. Will leave the trail at a saddle to bushwack through the forest until we reach rock outcroppings where we will do a short scramble up to the rocky summit of Curley Peak. The views on Curley Peak are incredible including providing a sweeping view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. We will eat lunch on the summit weather permitting. For those interested, we will stop in Canon City after the hike for a celebratory libation.

Although, the hike rating is moderate, due to a steady ascent, trails worn by dirt bike activity with areas of rock and scree, and bushwacking, the hike can be strenuous.
