Colorado Mountain Club · Prism Peak Section (Hosted via Trailblazers)
Join Prism Peak for a relaxed foothills loop around the Genesee Mountain Outer Loop! This is a beginner-friendly, social morning on the trail, timed to beat the afternoon heat! The hike will be followed by a social drinks and eats gathering!
Prism Peak is a community within the CMC dedicated to making the outdoors a more welcoming space for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and woman hikers (as well as allies). The focus is on building community, taking up space in the outdoors, and lowering the barriers that have historically kept many people from accessing Colorado's public lands and mountain spaces. The mountains are for everyone, y'all means all!
Meeting Place & Carpool
Meet between 7:50–8:00 AM at the Wooly Mammoth Park-n-Ride
📍 18560 US-40, Golden, CO 80401
Large free lot, easy on/off I-70, with gas and coffee nearby. We'll consolidate into as few cars as possible and caravan up together. We leave Wooly Mammoth no later than 8:10 AM to head to the trailhead, so please arrive on the earlier side. We will be trying to beat the morning parking rush! Please bring cash (or Venmo depending on the driver) to reimburse for gas (usually $2-3 a person)!
Trailhead: Patrick House Trailhead, Genesee Park (I-70 Exit 254, ~10 min up from the meetup). The trailhead lot is small and fills fast on summer weekends. Pit toilets at the trailhead; none on the loop. On trail ~8:30 AM, back to cars ~11:00 AM to noon.
After the Hike (Optional)
Genesee Pub & BBQ — 25948 Genesee Trail Rd, right off Exit 254. Casual, group-friendly, local taps, and bison burgers. Opens 10 AM Saturdays, so we can head straight over. No pressure to come, but we would love for you to join us if you'd like!
New to THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB? You're welcome here.
