ALMOST FULL MOON HIKE For Rocky Mountain Over The Hill Gang members only. Let's take a moonlight hike and enjoy the Cold Moon. The full moon is actually the next day but it's a super moon so it should still be pretty super the day before.

We will gain 800' elevation over 2.5 miles walking to the radio tower on a wide dirt and gravel service road. Most of the elevation gain is in the first mile. The moon will rise at 3:15pm and the sun will set at 4:35pm. We'll stop for some moon gazing at the radio tower and then walk back along the same path.
There are bathrooms at the trailhead.
We'll have hot chocolate and hot tea in the parking lot after the hike.
We will meet at 4:00 p.m. at William F. Hayden Park parking lot, 1000 S. Rooney Road, Lakewood, CO 80228, which is just north of the Dinosaur Ridge Gift Shop and Museum.
Required Equipment
We will be hiking at night so bring a headlamp (although you may not need it if the moon is bright enough). Bring trekking poles if you use them. You may want to bring extra layers since the temperature will be going down during our hike.
Bring a snack to eat at the top. Pro tip: warm beverages are nice on this hike.
