9.6 miles roundtrip, 2,116' accumulated gain. Begin at Arthur's Rock Trailhead in Lory State Park, hike south across the shared park boundary into Horsetooth Mountain Open Space to summit Horsetooth Rock.

The day may get hot this particularly warm spring we're having, so meet 6:30 a.m. Pringles Liquor parking lot (NW corner Drake and Taft Hill) for a 6:40 departure. Much of the hike is in pine tree shade. Please let me know if you can drive a carpool. For Lory State Park, the Colorado State Parks Pass is required, or pay the approx $10 day entrance fee.
