Welcome to Rise & Grind, the CMC Boulder Group’s morning hiking and coffee series.  Our objective is to start our day off right with some exercise, good company and maybe a little mindfulness too.  In addition to the hike itself, we’ll take a moment to pause on the summit, reflect on our intentions for the day and perhaps do some breathing exercises.  Afterward there will be an optional stop for coffee, symbolizing a fresh start and the energy needed to conquer the day.

NOTE: CHANGE IN LOCATION.  The trailhead to Nugget Hill is inaccessible, so we'll be moving the trip to the Chautauqua Trailhead.

Friday, November 15th we’ll be hiking the classic First and Second Flatirons Loop.  The hike is expected to be 2.7 miles long and ascend 1,450 feet.  The trip should take approximately 2 hours, but allow for up to 3 hours.

Please note, this is a moderate to difficult hike and is not designed to be a beginner trip. You should be comfortable climbing more than 1,000 feet in under one mile at a moderate (2.0 mph or 30 min/mile) pace without significant breaks. This will be a before-work hike for some participants, so it’s important that we maintain our pace and finish promptly so folks can get to work on time.  Please know your own abilities and be considerate of the rest of the group when you sign up.

Meetup time will be 6:00 am sharp; please be on time.

Details and directions will be emailed to registered participants.
