Hallett Peak is a challenging high-elevation hike, and late-November conditions can be wintry. Expect cold temperatures, strong winds, and potentially significant snow and ice. Although snowshoes may not be needed depending on recent conditions, everyone must bring snowshoes and microspikes so we can adapt to trail conditions.

Participants should be comfortable with strenuous hiking at altitude and prepared for prolonged exposure to cold and wind above treeline. Appropriate winter clothing is essential, including insulating layers, a windproof and waterproof outer layer, warm winter boots, gloves or mittens, and a balaclava or other face protection.

Conditions may require a change in route, a shortened objective, or turning around before the summit. The final itinerary will depend on weather, snow conditions, and the group's pace and preparedness.

7:00 AM — Fort Collins: Meet at the Target parking lot at 105 W Troutman Pkwy, Fort Collins, CO 80525, for carpooling.

8:30 AM — Bear Lake Trailhead, Rocky Mountain National Park: Participants meeting directly at the trailhead should arrive by 8:30 AM, ready to begin the hike. Those driving will need NPS passes.

Please arrive at your chosen meeting location on time and with all gear packed and ready. We will hike to Hallett Peak via the Bear Lake trailhead.
