Hiking – RMNP - Wild Basin TH - Blue Bird Lake
Bluebird Lake is a beautiful alpine lake with abundant wildflowers in July. The Bluebird Lake hike in Rocky Mountain National Park's Wild Basin is a 12.8-mile roundtrip trek to a stunning alpine lake surrounded by peaks. The trail offers beautiful views of waterfalls like Copeland Falls, Calypso Cascades, and Ouzel Falls, as well as panoramic scenery of the Wild Basin. The hike features a mix of terrain, including dense forest, open meadows, and rocky sections, with a significant elevation gain as you approach the lake.

This is a fairly long and strenuous hike. Please do not sign up if you are not sure of your ability to hike for 8-10 hours at a steady pace of 2.0 mph. Have plenty of water, electrolytes, and food. We will take short breaks as needed.
This hike starts from the Wild Basin TH in RMNP outside of Allenspark.
Northern area hikers will meet in Lyons at the Park n Ride on Railroad Ave. also known as Sandstone Park ready to depart at 6:00 am for an arrival at Wild Basin TH by 6:40 am We will take a little time to organize and use the restrooms planning to be ON TRAIL at 7:00 am.
Carpooling from the Denver area is TBD until roster is completed.
Required Equipment
Ten Essentials. Plenty of food and water.
You might want to have microspikes and poles as we may go through a little snow but will try to avoid.
