Hiking – South Table Mountain

Two adventures for the price of one: This outing begins with a hike along the top of South Table Mountain to a scenic overlook, offering sweeping views of the Colorado Railroad Museum, Golden, and the surrounding Front Range. The mostly level trail features expansive vistas and open grasslands, providing an excellent perspective of the foothills below. After the hike, we continue with a guided tour of the Colorado Railroad Museum, where we’ll explore historic locomotives, railcars, and the rich railroad heritage of the region.

From the open grasslands and overlooks, we’ll take in wide views of Golden, the foothills, and the Colorado Railroad Museum below, then conclude the day with a guided visit to the museum itself, where historic locomotives and railcars bring to life the vital role railroads played in shaping Colorado’s growth and connecting its communities.
