Hiking – Spirit Gulch Trail (Ouray)

The Spirit Gulch TH is located on highway 550, to the south of Ouray and close to the Red Mountain Mining District overlook. It starts on an old mining road that's now closed to vehicles and travels through 3 wildflower-filled basins with views of the Red Mountains. There are some mining ruins close to the trail. Let's meet at the the parking lot at Hartwell Park in Ridgway at 9am and then caravan to the trailhead from there where parking is somewhat limited. Carpools may be organized in Montrose and Grand Junction, too, depending on the participants' locations.
