We will travel in a clockwise loop along the Scout Line and Marmot Passage Trails to Elk Falls Pond, and from there to Elk Falls. We will return along the Bugling Elk and Staunton Ranch Trails.

The initial ascent up Scout Line Trail is significant, with approximately 560 feet of elevation gain in .75 miles. Additionally, the access to Elk Falls is via steep stone steps that may be wet or icy. If you have balance issues, this may not be the trip for you.

I anticipate a return to the trailhead by early to mid-afternoon.

We will meet at the Lazy V parking lot in Staunton State Park at 8:15 am, with a planned departure of 8:30 am. Here is a link to the location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/44w6Rh2fRv2K5ZnAA
