The Vallecito Creek Trail (#529) parallels the beautiful deep canyon of Vallecito Creek into the Weminuche Wilderness. The trail climbs through conifers and aspens. There is one creek crossing at Taylor Creek.
The TH is at the Vallecito Campground. We will go as far as the first bridge at 3.3 miles and then turn around.

There is moderate exposure as the trail climbs out of the canyon.

Ten essentials, including bug spray and sunscreen. Bring lunch and lots of water. Waterproof boots for creek crossing. Poles are helpful on this rocky trail.
