Hiking – Windy Peak -- Lost Creek Wilderness

: This is an ~9 mile totally off-trail hike to Windy Peak along the West Ridge Route. We will follow the route description from SummitPost (https://www.summitpost.org/west-ridge/161698) for our off-trail routefinding to the expansive summit plateau of Windy Peak. Expect downed trees, some swampy areas, some rock hopping, but nothing more than Class 2, and little if any snow.

This route is only available from middle May through October, because of a gate closure on RD 77 seven miles prior to the Lost Park TH.
