Off the Shrine Pass road past the Shrine Pass trailhead.
For those in Summit County, meet at the kayak overnight lot aka recpatch parking near I-70 exit 201 at 7:25 am.
If you are meeting at the trailhead, please arrive by 7:55 a.m.
Drive west on I-70 to exit 190 for Vail Pass. Turn west onto a good dirt road, Shrine Pass Road #709. At mile 2.3, you will pass the road for the Shrine Mountain Inn on the left and at mile 3.7, you will pass the Holy Cross Scenic Viewing Deck (known as Julia’s Deck) with a wheelchair access ramp. At mile 3.9, turn right onto Lime Creek Road #728. You will pass Timber Creek Road #712 on the right at mile 4.4 and reach the trailhead on the right at mile 4.7
Off the Shrine Pass road past the Shrine Pass trailhead.
Required Equipment
The trail starts level then climbs gently with a few steeps and a couple of downed trees to scramble over, up to views of the Gore Range and Ten Mile Range. Emerge from woods to a large open meadow where you follow north-northwest through the meadow for great views of the back bowls of Vail etc. 360 degrees. Continue on to Two Elk Trail junction.
