Intermediate Snowshoe – Coney Flats Area

RMOTHG MEMBERS ONLY - Coney Flats is a lovely wooded trail just outside the Indian Peaks Wilderness that has a very pretty view of The Sawtooth at the end. The turn-off for the TH is 2.6 miles north of the Brainard Lake turn-off on the Peak-to-Peak Highway. Please read the Leader's Notes below.

  • High Point Elevation: 9,790 ft

I was able to scout our snowshoe today (12-31-2023).  The roads up to the trailhead are great, there is enough snow to snowshoe AND there is a calm wind predicted for Tuesday!!!  This is amazing as this area is often quite windy.

Also, the number of people allowed is incorrect - I will take up to 12 so get on the waitlist!!!

Please take some time to inspect your snowshoes since most of us haven't been out with them this season and make sure they are properly adjusted so we can gear-up quickly at the cars.

We may stop in Nederland for our drivers to get some coffee or hot chocolate for the drive home.

Below is a map of our route:

We need to limit the number of cars at the TH, so you must be willing to carpool.  If there are enough people coming from the north, I will try my hardest to create a different meeting place for you all so that you can carpool from the Boulder area.
