Mountaineering – James Peak Wilderness Area - Mt. Bancroft via Loch Lomond

A technical alpine climb of the East Ridge of 13,250 ft Mount Bancroft starting from the Loch Lomond trailhead. Will include a rappel, a belayed pitch of 5.2 rock, and much Class 3 and 4 scrambling.

Participants will need to be skilled scrambling class 4 in alpine terrain, rappelling, and technical rock climbing (not leading). CMC scrambling/alpine climbing, basic and intermediate rock climbing badges or equivalent experience required.

Note that this trailhead is best accessed by high clearance vehicles. The 2WD parking is 2.3 miles from the upper lot. Leader may camp somewhere nearby Friday night.
