Nordic Skiing – Rabbit Ears Pass
This is a great backcountry nordic ski trip on the marked Rabbit Ears Pass Trails which are located between Walden and Steamboat Springs. If conditions are good it also provides the opportunity to ski in powder off trail in a couple of wide open meadows. The trip leader and some others will be doing the "Moonlight ski" at Colorado State Forest State Park on Saturday night (February 4th), staying in Walden Saturday evening, then doing this trip on Sunday. You can do the trip in "skinny skis", but due to the downhill runs with turns it is a bit easier in slightly wider skis with metal edges. There are also some climbs so you should bring skins if you have them.

As indicated in the description many folks will be staying Saturday evening in Walden. When you contact the trip leader to register please indicate if you would like to stay in Walden Saturday evening or meet the group in Walden. Presently we have a couple of rooms reserved, but may need more if there is enough interest.
