This might be the shortest way up South Boulder peak. Starting from the town of Eldorado Springs, take the Old Mesa Trail to the Shadown Canyon trail and up to South Boulder Peak.
The Old Mesa Trail is the where the Mesa Trail originally went; it's seldom used but still a clear single track trail.
