RMOTHG Trip – 4th of July TH to Lake Dorothy

This hike is moderate, with a distance of about 7 mi, and an elevation gain of just under 2,000 ft. Lake Dorothy sits in a rugged bowl below Mt. Neva, at an elevation of over 12,000 ft. The Arapaho Pass Trail, which goes to the lake, has amazing views and some of the best wildflowers in Boulder County.

  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.1 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,945 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 12,061 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 to 2.0 mph

There is one stream crossing, which has mostly flat rocks, which can be wet, so poles are recommended. If the weather is good, there will be substantial hang-out time at the lake.
