Bowman's Shortcut is a pleasant hike with a few steep sections where we gain most of the elevation. We will be in the trees on most of the hike with rewarding views once on the upper ridge. Our objective is to reach the upper ridge before noon and have lunch. The trip is rated moderate because we will average a steadily pace of 2.0 mph and not making a lot of stops! We will start our return before the early afternoon thunder showers. Be prepared with rain gear, warm clothes, and of course, always have your 10 essentials! Bring 2 liters of water due to the high altitude and steep terrain.
