RMOTHG Trip – Shelf Lake

This beautiful hike starts out following a stream at 10.1K feet through a pine forest to timberline. From there it continues following the stream and ends at 12K ft in a lovely cirque.There are views of Square Top, Decatur and others once you reach timberline.

We will meet at the Park & Ride at the intersection of Morrison Road and (C-470) Rooney Rd in front of the Phillips 66 gas station at 7:00 for a prompt departure.  The road into the trailhead is a little rough and we will be looking for drivers with higher clearance suv’s.  4 wheel drive is not necessary.
