The trail was snow-covered half of the time, but not too icy. Microspikes were helpful, but not required. Two-thirds of the way, we hiked on uneven slab rock for about a mile.
Enjoyable one-way 9-mile hike from the Blue Sky TH to the Devil's Backbone Open Space TH. Although chilly, the weather was nice and the hike was fun for everyone. Leaders left 2 cars at the ending TH to carpool participants back to near the beginning TH. There is now a $10 fee (Larimer County) to park at either TH. Great fall hike!
