Hiking – Little Scraggy TH to Little Scraggy Peak

Eleven stout-hearted wanderers did brave the wilds of Pike, shunning the trodden way to scale yon rugged Little Scraggy’s height. Through meads bedecked in blooming glory and o’er hill and hollow, rough and kind by turns, they pressed with purpose true. At last upon the lofty crest they stood, where heaven’s breath did kiss their brows, and all the world lay stretched beneath like a painted stage.

Eleven kindred souls, bound by a longing for wild delight, set forth into the verdant heart of Pike National Forest, where the pathless slopes of Little Scraggy Peak beckoned with silent grandeur. Through glades awash in a riot of wildflowers—golden banner, lupine, and columbine swaying in a breeze as soft as a whispered ode—they pressed on, hearts attuned to nature’s unspoken song. The terrain, now tender, now fierce, tested their steps and spirits alike, yet none faltered as they turned from the siren-call of beaten trails, seeking instead the quiet nobility of the unknown. At the summit, where the world unfurled beneath them in sacred hush, sky and stone and soul did meet—reward for their reverent defiance of the ordinary way.
