Trip Report

Hiking – Pennsylvania Mountain Southeast Ridge

Short and straightforward winter 13er. The southeast ridge route is free of avalanche terrain as long as you stay on the ridge making it great for trip leaders with Avalanche Terrain Avoidance credentials but no formal AIARE training.

  • Snow and ice on road
  • Snowshoes were useful at some points in trees and on bench mentioned in 14ers route description. Road up to trailhead was a bit slick. Winter tires or snow chains are encouraged

Great time out with the team! 4 hours roundtrip
