Hiking – Second Creek Trail to Twin Cones
This relatively short train yields rewarding views of the Vasquez Peak Wilderness area. You can see Medicine Bow Peak in Wyoming on a clear day from the rocky Twin Cones!

Route conditions were mostly dry with a few small stream crossings. The Broome Hut Day Use Area has a bathroom and is located a mile up from the TH.
We started hiking at 8am and reached our objective at 10:30am. We enjoyed lunch on the saddle between the Twin Cones. Incredible views in all directions and I could see Medicine Bow Peak to the North in Wyoming! The late season wildflowers were exceptional. Everyone had a grand time! We returned to the TH at 1:30pm.
