TCS Multipitch Self-Rescue - CMC State - 2023 Session B

Climbing Course

TCS Multipitch Rescue

This course is designed to teach participants several simple and complex rescue skills that can be used in a multi-pitch setting.

Participants should already be leading sport or trad climbs outside.  Please reach out to the class lead if you have specific questions about this course.

The course consists of two evening sessions at the AMC Climbing Wall and one all day field day in Boulder Canyon.

The course refreshes the skills taught in the Single Pitch Rescue course and focuses on pickoffs in multi-pitch terrain to rescue an injured climber, and transitions to counterbalanced and tandem rappels.

Participants are expected to be graduates of the Single Pitch Rock Rescue Course (or the previously taught Rescue II) and have multi-pitch climbing experience.   This is a fast-paced course and participants should be proficient with their climbing knots before attending the first session.  Please reach out to the class lead if you have specific questions about this course.
