This evening is intended for Technical Climbing School instructors, who teach in ACS or the rock climbing courses

We will meet at The American Mountaineering Center's climbing wall. 

We will go over teaching students how to convert an extended rappel device to an "Alpine GriGri" to ascend a rappel rope and teaching a simple technique for rescuing a leader. We will demonstrate the techniques and give everyone time to practice them.

Gear to bring:

    • Climbing harness
    • Helmet
    • ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso 3 belay device with dedicated locking carabiner
    • Auto block cord with locking carbiner
    • 3-4 non dedcated large locking carabiners
    • 2 standard length alpine draws with non locking carabiners
    • Cords for tying fiction hitches
    • 2 double length alpine draws with non locking carabiners (nylon, dyneema or both)
  • Optional: PAS or some form of personal anchor tether and climbing shoes
