Colorado Mountain Club is a great place to start if you're looking for ways to spend more time outside this summer. Whether you want to attend an event, sign up for a course to improve your skills, or are just looking for new hiking buddies, we've got plenty of activities on the calendar this June.

Here are a few you won't want to miss:

Mountain Voices: Wildflower ID & Author Talk on June 12th
Author Marlene Borneman will share how to identify Colorado wildflowers, along with an overview of the state’s different life zones and where these plants are found across mountain landscapes. Recommended for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone interested in Colorado’s native flora. The program concludes with a Q&A session and book signing.

Explore Night on June 17th
Want to get out and explore the outdoors this summer? Join us in person to learn more about the Colorado Mountain Club and discover your next great adventure. This FREE event is open to current members, new members, and anyone interested in becoming part of our community! 

Wilderness First Aid on June 19th
This 16-hour Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, offered through CMC Wilderness Medicine, teaches students the skills to anticipate risks and hazards, identify medical, traumatic, and environmental problems, recognize life-threatening issues, initiate basic care, and deliver a cohesive report. The curriculum forces students to think creatively, adapt to ever changing situations, and learn valuable leadership, decision making, and communication skills.

CPR/AED for Outdoor Enthusiasts on June 23rd
Our certified CPR/AED Laura Zaruba instructor will also be teaching the class. Students completing the class will receive a two-year Adult CPR/AED certification from ECSI.

Intro to Hiking Safety on June 24th
Learn the many aspects of safety you need to be aware of when you're hiking in Colorado, including what to do when you encounter animals, dangerous weather, getting lost (or staying found), cold weather gear, staying warm, hypothermia, dehydration, and being stranded overnight.
