September 1: Outdoor Eats Trail Meals Workshop
Join Chef Corso, host of Outdoor Eats TV—airing nationally on PBS, Outside TV, and NBC Sports Network—and a classically trained chef with more than 25 years of culinary experience, for a practical workshop that will transform the way you cook outdoors.
September 8: Wilderness Trekking School - Denver
Wilderness Trekking School (WTS) is Colorado Mountain Club’s largest school, a comprehensive course on mountain hiking. Students are all ages, from 18 to 70+. If you’re new to hiking, Wilderness Trekking School gives you the opportunity to learn how to travel safely – and with confidence – in the backcountry.
September 9: Conservation Trail Work at Brainard Lake
Join CMC's Brainard Lake Stewardship Trail Crew for a day of trail work! No prior trail work experience required.
September 11: Stop the Bleed
This is a FREE comprehensive training course designed to teach individuals how to control severe bleeding in emergencies, developed by the American College of Surgeons.
September 11: Family Climb Night
Join the Youth Programs Team for a night of indoor climbing at the CMC Basecamp Climbing Wall!
September 12-13 OR September 26-27: Wilderness First Aid
Learn how to anticipate risks and hazards, identify medical, traumatic, and environmental problems, recognize life-threatening issues, initiate basic care, and deliver a cohesive report.
September 12: Backcountry Incident Management School
Bring order to a chaotic situation. Although rare within the CMC, backcountry incidents when they do happen are stressful, confusing, and the wrong activities can potentially compound to make a bad situation even worse. For those who have always wanted a means to review, practice, and improve the skills needed to successfully manage the initial aspects of an unforeseen incident, the BIM School's purpose is to help you meet those needs.
September 14: CPR/AED for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Students completing the class will receive a two-year Adult CPR/AED certification from ECSI.
September 15: How Glaciers Still Shape Colorado's Mountains
Join Suzanne and Bob Anderson, geomorphologists at CU Boulder, to learn how glaciers of the past and present continue to shape Colorado's mountains.
September 16: Explore Night at REI Denver Flagship

September 17: Trail Maintenance at Guanella Pass

September 19: Intro to Trad and Multi-Pitch Climbing
Are you tired of just clipping bolts at the crag? Do you want to step up to the high walls of Eldo, head into the RMNP alpine, or conquer the Flatirons? Then this trad course is for you. This course is designed to teach participants (who already know how to lead climb and lead belay) the essentials to safely and efficiently lead trad in a single pitch setting and progress to multi-pitch climbs.
