For-Teeners - Alpine Hiking Course for Teens

Spend the week learning what it takes to summit one of the giants of the Colorado Rockies- a 14,000-foot peak! We'll start our week in Golden, getting our hiking feet underneath us, where we'll not only physically prepare for our summit, but also gain essential skills for mountain safety.

Tackle one of Colorado’s biggest challenges this summer with our For-Teeners camp. Spend the week learning what it takes to summit one of the giants of the Colorado Rockies- a 14,000-foot peak! We'll start our week in the front range, getting our hiking feet underneath us, where we'll not only physically prepare for our summit, but also gain essential skills for mountain safety. You will learn about the 10 essentials, Leave No Trace wilderness ethics, trail etiquette, mountain weather, lightning safety, and much more all while becoming confident in the preparation needed to hike a 14er. After a day spent in the Front Range, we'll pack our bags and make a beautiful drive through Colorado to explore the beautiful Sawatch Mountains. Throughout this week, you will learn and use skills essential for safe preparation and travel in high altitude-alpine climates and will walk away prepared to be a competent and more self-sufficient member of future hiking and summit groups.
