In order for us to assess readiness for this hike, please respond to the following:
- What is your current fitness routine?
- How many 14ers have you completed? Any 13ers/14ers this year?
- Please provide data for a recent fitness challenge such as Mt. Morrison or the Manitou Incline. Others are fine, just indicate elevation, distance, and your time.
- Depending on variables such as weather and group fitness, we may also attempt Red Mountain; are you interested in this extra challenge? It will add 1.2 miles and 1,200' of climbing.
Trip leaders- Do not delete: Participants can register for their preferred 14er through the Colorado Mountain Club website, where they will be placed on a waitlist for their chosen peak. From there, trip leaders will reach out to gather more information about each participant's experience level and interests. For trips where the waitlist exceeds the allotted group size, participants will be selected by lottery.
For questions about your trip, please reach out to your trip leader directly. For general questions about the Summit 2026 project or any relate event, please reach out to summit2026@cmc.org.
Culebra is located on the property of the Cielo Vista Ranch. We are awaiting confirmation from them for access details. The tentative plan is to arrive the night before and car camp near the ranch gate. They typically allow hikers in at 06:00, and from there we will proceed to the trailhead at the end of the road accessible by 4 wheel drive.
