Level 1: Scramble Field Day – Pettingell Peak
This is the first of the progressive Scramble Field Days for students currently enrolled in Alpine Scrambling Course Denver. Scrambling involves long, strenuous days covering 9-13 miles with high elevation gains (greater than 2,000') Be prepared for an all day adventure and bring your winning attitude.

BETA: Pettingell Peak via East Ridge
We'll take the Herman Gulch trail towards Herman Lake and gain Pettingell Peak's east ridge using the ridgeline that borders the east side of Herman Lake. We will practice route finding and climbing movement while scrambling along the ridge en-route to the summit. Then, we will descend Pettingell's southern slopes and glissade to Herman Lake if we find favorable snow conditions
