We will meet at the Pikes Peak Highway Tollgate.
Address: 5089 Pikes Peak Hwy, Cascade, Colorado 80809.
Uphill gates open: 9am; we need to CARPOOL and be in line before the gate opens.
$15 per person or $50 for five in a car. More specific directions and Carpooling options will be discussed in class.
Class will finish about 3pm; downhill gates close at 5pm.
Details on the specific meeting place and time will be provided by the Course Leader during the course classroom session.
Required Equipment
Climbing helmet, winter alpine-style boots, glasses, alpine crampons, ice axe, avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, snowshoes, ski poles, ten essentials (Wind & Sun protection) and appropriate layered clothing for winter travel.
Water; lunch; snacks for a full day.
Bring one Large Garbage Bag that may be used to aid "self arrest" practice.
