Pikes Peak Group Annual COURSE Planner - 2026

About us

Trips are scheduled each month throughout the year. Guided by experienced leaders, these trips are designed to accommodate all age and skill levels. Activities include hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, cross-country and downhill skiing, cycling, and many other outdoor activities in which members are interested.

PIKES PEAK TRIP LEADER RESOURCES

The group provides a wide range of training and educational opportunities:

Wilderness Trekking School (WTS):

Comprised of three courses:

WTS – Wilderness Fundamentals
WTS – Basic Land Navigation
WTS – Basic Backpacking

BASIC MOUNTAINEERING SCHOOL (BMS):
Comprised of four courses:

BMS – Basic Rock Scrambling
BMS – Basic/Intermediate Rock Climbing
BMS – Basic Ice Climbing
BMS – Advanced Snow Climbing

HIGH ALTITUDE MOUNTAINEERING SCHOOL (HAMS)

Designed to prepare mountaineers to go beyond the 14ers – higher altitudes, glacier travel, international trips

advanced rock climbing program (ARCPro)

The Pikes Peak Group Advanced Rock-Climbing Program, or ARC Pro for short, is an educational program aimed at climbers who have learned the basics of outdoor rock climbing and are looking to expand their climbing knowledge into new areas.

Other offerings

We also offer additional clinics  teaching scrambling, mountain biking, avalanche awareness, winter wilderness survival, snowshoeing, Nordic and backcountry skiing, wilderness first aid… and more!

Volunteer

Conservation and preservation of our natural resources and scenery are a high priority, and many activities are scheduled in which to volunteer your help.

Social gatherings

Events may feature speakers presenting regional activities, local history, and trips to exotic places. Other events include meeting up "just for fun", a summer celebration, and an annual meeting in November.
