We'll be hiking an out-n-back route from the East Portal Trailhead, follwing the South Boulder Creek Trail until we meet the Forest Lakes Trail. that will take us to Lower and Upper Forest Lakes. Upper Forest Lake is located below the CDT and has a view of Beacon Peak. Hopefully we can do a bit of exploring around Upper Forest Lake, finding a nice spot to stop for lunch/snack. We'll return to the trailhead by the same route. Our pace will be determined by the strength, stamina, and endurance of the group. (Forest Lakes - Lower & Upper - JPW - CalTopo)
