Ascending Hike Section (AHS): a 6 mile out and back and 1500 ft elevation gain. Skill Building Ascending Hike open to all CMC members with preference for those for who these activities are a new experience and/or who joined the club since January 2025.

This hike will be an exploratory hike for all. The hike up Peru Creek Road from the lower to upper trailhead follows a mellow incline. There may be some water crossings. Park along Peru Creek Road (FSR 260) at the Chihuahua Gulch Trailhead and hike up the dirt Chihuahua Gulch Rd two miles to the official Chihuahua Lake Trail
Meeting place: Meet at Wooly Mammoth Park and Ride, section BB at 6:30 am so we can form carpools for the drive to the trailhead and have a PROMPT departure of 6:45 am.
