****NO HARES PLEASE****

Need to work off some of that Thanksgiving feast?  This may help.  Let's meet at 9:30 am the Aiken Canyon Preserve Parking Lot off of Hwy. 119 south of Colorado Springs.

We'll hike through dry creek bed, grassy meadows, treed areas, and into the lovely canyon to view the remains of a pioneer's cabin.  We'll also hike to the high point, a hill overlooking the preserve with great views.

Please bring your 10 essentials including, but not limited to: 2 liters of water, ample food, warm layers, and possibly ice walkers/microspikes.  If heavy snowfall occurs, this may become a snowshoe with snowshoes required.

Please contact me at 7195106699 or at sheindk@yahoo.com, should you have questions, or if you wish to carpool.  If you wish to carpool please do contact me no later than Saturday, November 28th at 7:00 pm.  Carpoolers can meet at 9:00 am sharp in the Safeway Parking lot at the junction of Cheyenne Road and South Nevada/Hwy. 115.

Driving Directions from Colorado Springs:  From I-25 south exit onto Exit 140, the Tejon/Nevada exit.  Go due east on the frontage road past Tejon to South Nevada Avenue. Turn left onto South Nevada Avenue/Hwy. 115.  Drive approximately 15-16 miles south on Hwy. 115 to Turkey Canyon Ranch Road.  (You'll see a vacant restaurant with a statue of a rearing white stallion on the east side of the road a little north of Turkey Canyon Ranch Road.)  Turn right or west onto Turkey Canyon Ranch Road and turn right again into the parking lot for Aiken Canyon Preserve.
