Hiking – Hesperus Mountain

Herperus Mountain marks the northern boundary of the traditional homeland of the Navajo and Ute peoples. It is the Sacred Mountain of the North. Hesperus is the highest eminence in the La Plata Range. The upper mountain is climbed by way of the western ridge.

We'll be hiking up the western ridge up (3 hours) but descending the black staircase down (45 min). 

We'll meet at 7am sharp at the Transfer Campground north of Mancos, Colorado. We'll start hiking at 8am sharp. We can carpool from Durango or Mancos if needed.  The last 1.5 miles require a 4WD vehicle. This is a wonderful hike!!
