Hesperus Mountain

Hesperus Mountain is a moderate hike of 5.2 miles with 2,700 feet of elevation gain. Hesperus Mountain marks the traditional northern boundary of the Navajo, it is the sacred mountain of the north. Hesperus is the highest peak in the La Platas.

Hesperus Mountain (13,238') is one of the most difficult peaks to navigate with multiple route options from both the north and south.  Climb13ers.com ranks it a 2+ climb and provides a detailed write-up using the Sharkstooth TH and the West Mancos Trail (#621), which requires crossing the North Fork of the West Mancos River
