Route/Place Updates, Images & Resources Form

A form for sending corrections, improvements, new images and new resources to be added to a route/place.

Please use this form to send us updates for an existing route/place. You need not complete every field on this form—only complete fields that need to be updated. Remember that all text, images and resources must be your original work or we must have permission to use them.

Many of the fields are rich text that come with editing tools. To take advantage of these editing tools, you must be logged in. If you're not already, log in or create an account.

Your Name

Route/Place Title The title of the route/place for which you are sending us updates, images or resources. Please submit one form per route/place.

Link to Route/Place Please enter the URL (aka link) to the route/place where we should apply these updates. You can copy-and-paste it from your browser's address window when you're viewing the route/place details.

Merge with... List the titles of any other Routes & Places that you think should be merged with this one, one per line. These can be outright duplicates or ones where the only difference is a side trip, extension, small variation or type of activity (e.g. only snowshoeing when it could be snowshoeing or skiing).

Activity Type The correct activity type or activity types to add. If adding, please list ALL activity types for this route/place.

Difficulty Remember that difficulties can be quite subjective. There may be more than one appropriate difficulties if there is more than one activity type (e.g. climbing and skiing).

Length The correct mileage and units (e.g. 10 mi)

Elevation Gain The correct cumulative elevation gain in feet.

Start & End GPS Points Give us the correct decimal lat/lon of the start and/or end GPS points, each on its own line if adding both (e.g. Start: 47.6851897, -122.2638282).

Maximum Party Size The maximum party size is permitted by the land manager but no more than twelve (12) per our Outdoor Ethics policy. This capacity may exceed twelve for in-town facilities and other Routes & Places for which we obtain special use permits.

Recommended Party Size The recommended capacity for activities at this route/place. This is most often 12. It will be used as the default total capacity when adding an activity.

Alternate Titles List any additional titles that should be available to leaders when scheduling an activity, one per line.

Update Notes Tell us anything we need to know about why you think the updates you suggested above are needed.

Route Description Tell us how to correct or improve the Summary (just below the title) or Description. You can copy-and-paste from the route/place and edit as needed, tell what to add, or write one from scratch.

Books & Maps Tell us if there are any books or maps that should be added or removed. Add links to more info to help us be sure we add the correct book or map.

Land Manager Tell us about the correct land manager, National Forest Ranger District, land subdesignation, and/or parking permit. Please include a link to help us ensure we list this correctly.

Images & Resources Tell us about the images (photographer and caption) and resources (title and summary) for each link or file you send us. Attach image and resource files below.
