This will be a moderately paced point-to-point hike on the Section 16 and Intemann Trail system. The hike begins with a sustained climb through Section 16, gaining most of the elevation early before transitioning to rolling terrain and a longer descent. Expect rocky, uneven singletrack with some steep sections, loose gravel, and occasional exposed areas. We'll enjoy expansive views of Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, and the Front Range along the way. Trekking poles may be helpful for the descent. Participants should be comfortable hiking at elevation on rugged trails and be prepared with adequate water, sun protection, and layers for changing mountain conditions.
Meeting place will be at the Section 16 trailhead at 8am. More details will be sent to participants prior to the trip.
